Charcoal Filter Sachets

Our boxes of filter sachets are available in quantities of six and twelve. Generally, it would help if you changed the filters about once a month, so this is enough to last around twelve months.

Water distillers can allow a very small percentage of impurities (VOCs), which boil at temperatures below or very close to water. The charcoal filters remove Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)  which are so light that they go through the distillation process.  They can affect the flavour of water, giving it a nasty taste, so it's best to get rid of them.

  • Easy to install and replace, fold the filter in half and place it in the nozzle. To replace, gently squeeze both sides of the nozzle and pull it down and towards you to remove, then replace the sachet.
  • Remove odours and makes your water tastes fresh and clean
  • Water will be tastier if two sachets are used at a time
  • You can repurpose used distilled water filters (sachets) in shoes cabinet or refrigerators to dispose of the smell
  • Soak new activated charcoal sachet in water to remove black dust. The black activated charcoal dust is harmless

Moneyback guarantees

Because we are an Internet shop the purpose of a moneyback guarantee is to let you inspect and evaluate a product and return it, if you decide you do not want it. It is not a way to have a product on free rental for a period.

So, to claim a moneyback guarantee the product needs to be returned to us in "as new" condition in its original packaging so that it can be inspected and resold.

We will refund the cost of the product but not the cost of the original post and packaging. Also, you are responsible for getting the product to us.

Moneyback guarantees apply to the purchaser and cannot be passed on.

All our moneyback guarantees apply only to people living in the British Isles and do not apply to trade customers.

To claim a moneyback guarantee phone us first on 01985 606044, tell us what you are sending back and we will tell you where to send it.

1. What's included in the price?

Your Water Distiller is supplied with everything you need for six months of distillation:

Stainless Steel Water Distiller

Power lead

4 litre collection jug (choose plastic of glass)

250g residue cleaner

6 active carbon filters

2. Do we need to use the charcoal filters?

The charcoal filters out volatile organic compounds (VOCs), things like pesticides and solvents. Apart from removing these nasty chemicals, the charcoal filtration also makes the water taste better.

3. How often should you change the charcoal filter?

The filter is designed to be used for four weeks if you are doing one distillation a day. If you are running two distillations a day, then change it every two weeks. If you are doing one distillation every two days change it every eight weeks.

4. Why does the water taste different?

Pure distilled water tastes different to normal tap water and sometimes it takes a little bit of getting used to. When you are used to it, tap water suddenly tastes disgusting!

5. Where's the jug?

You will find the jug inside the distiller.

6. How much does distillation cost?

25p a litre.

7. How long does it take to distil?

It usually takes 5-6 hours for 4 litres of water. You can shorten the time by using water from the hot water tap.

8. Is distillation expensive?

It normally costs about 25p per litre in electricity.

9. How much electricity does a water distiller use?

The average water distiller uses around 3 kilowatt hours to make 4 litres of distilled water. This equates to an average electricity cost of 34p per kilowatt hour, therefore each litre of distilled water costs around 25p to make.
